Apollo 18: Upcoming 2011 American Horror Film


Apollo 18 is an upcoming 2011 American horror film directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego and produced by Timur Bekmambetov. The film revolves around a fictional premise of an actual Apollo 18 mission was launched in December 1974, which probably never return, and consequently, marked the real reason why the United States would never command another expedition to the moon. The film is shot in a mockumentary-style found footage, presumably from the lost images of the Apollo 18 mission that was only recently discovered. The film will first English-language film of the Lopez-Gallego.

After several release date changes, the film is currently scheduled to be released on September 2, 2011.
"There's a reason why we never went back to the moon," says the official Apollo 18 web site.

Directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego and produced by Timur Bekmambetov, Apollo 18 is the upcoming horror flick scheduled for release on September 2, 2011.

The film is about a secret manned mission to the moon, which was funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. Launched in December 1974, the Apollo 18 mission, launched after the 1972 Apollo 17 mission, which probably never return. Officially, the U.S. government and NASA denies the existence of the Apollo 18 mission, and suggests that Apollo 17 was the last manned mission to the moon.

The film revolves around a fictional hypothesis of this secret mission to the real reason why the U.S. never started an expedition to the moon mean. Shot in a style pictures, the plot indicates a government cover-up of the mission after the discovery of the crew and the attack by parasitic life on the moon.

The official trailer shows an American astronaut finding a dead cosmonaut on the lunar surface.
