Celebrating Pregnancy with a Henna Tattoo for the Belly

pregnant belly henna tattoo

It is always an honor & a pleasure to be invited to do henna in celebration of the birth of a child.

The couple who came for mehndi had a very clear idea of what they wanted... and they also brought photos!

The father of the baby took lots of pictures as the henna was being applied... and I was able to take this one of the final result.

As always, i spoke with the mother before I made the paste to be sure she did not have any allergies to any of the ingredients in the henna paste.

Fine Line Henna Palms at BLU - Jacksonville Tattoo

I am so happy to have just received my first shipment of Jamila Henna. This is fresh, fresh henna from the June harvest.. and so finely ground that I just open the box.. and mix the powder right up.
This very finely ground henna makes the most remarkably smooth paste making it easy to quickly accomplish designs that would take longer with a paste of variable consistancy.
Look at this photo of a traditional Indian pattern.. note the fine criss cross lines on the fingers. This tattoo was done using the traditional henna cone, not a squeeze bottle or a cone with a special metal tip.
Click the title of this post to go to the henna powder page on my website. The shopping carts for Jamila powder are finally on line!

Tattoo for Women of Color - Henna Tattoo

Here is a photo of a finished Yin/Yang symbol in Henna. I am so grateful my client came back by the salon to let me take a photo of her finished design.

This tattoo is a week old. We used fresh henna to create the darker portion of the Yin/Yang symbol, and the client's lovely "pecan" skin for the lighter side. Many times women of color in my city wonder if the henna will stain their skin... and of course it will.. but it is very good to be able to put a photo on line.

Visit again for more tattoos for the ankle.

Simple Ankle Tattoo Pattern - Henna Tattoo Jacksonville

Here is a simple ankle tattoo. I did this design using a wide flow of paste so that the client would get good color.

It is important to ask your clients if they are wearing body lotion.. or sun tan oil.. before you start a design. These products can interfere with the final result. I hope you enjoy this photo. Visit my website for more information, or stop by the shop on Saturdays.

Wishing you joy,

Ann George

Henna Bracelet for Mindy of LockStar, Inc.

Here we go... a "Chef's Choice" henna tattoo for Mindy!
For those of you new to henna tattoo, "Chef's Choice" is my term for "Here is my hand.. please do what ever design you like."
Once I know how much a client wants to spend, and I have a general idea about the style of henna they like.. I start.

It seems as if Henna forms its own relationship with each person, and their design just evolves. A case in point is this "slave bangle" style tattoo for Mindy, a stylist at BLU... where you can get a henna tattoo almost every Saturday.

Please note that this is a photo of the henna paste still on the skin. The finished color is not black, but some shade of reddish brown. I hope to be able to publish a photo of the finished color.. but we have to wait at least two days.

Sexy Wings Tattoo in Henna

I was really hoping for a change to do a sexy, unique back piece in henna.. and I am very happy to post this picture.

If you think henna tattoo is limited to hands and feet.. think again!

It really can be applied almost anywhere, and with time & attention to detail, good powder & lots of lemon sugar ( ok.. and maybe a blow dryer) you can get good color.

I look forward to seeing the finished color of this tattoo... I am hoping for a rich dark brown!

All best wishes,

Ann George
