Bridal Henna Tattoo for the palms of the hands.

bridal henna tattoo for the palms
Sometimes a picture just speaks for itself.

Here are the palms of a happy bride just 24 hours after the past was removed.

The henna powder used here was from the souks of Dubai. (Yes, this is the henna powder used in all henna kits!)

The color was even darker on her wedding day.

Henna Tattoo for the Foot - Bridal Style

Here is an example of a bridal style foot tattoo. This is a fairly traditional design.. and one that was fun & easy to do.

Of course, the most important part of successful henna tattoo is that the client is satisfied! In this case, I am happy to say that Miss Linda very much liked her mehndi.

I also feel that it is important to create a tattoo that "fits" not only the personality of the client, but also suits the part of the body that I am working with.

Come visit again as I have lots more photos to upload.

Henna Tattoo for Samadhi Belly Dancer

henna tattoo on the front of the belly
side view of lotus henna tattoo pattern
open lotus henna tattoo, lower back tattoo
side view henna waist tattoo I am always happy to have the chance to tattoo the belly, and I must thank all the tribal dancers of the Samadhi Dance troupe for supporting the art of henna tattoo here in Jacksonville, Florida!

Today I am posting pics of a wrap around belly tattoo. The first image is the "tease" front of the design. The tattoo actually began with an open lotus blossom on the lower back (scroll down). The dancer knew she wanted that. The challenge then became to create a wrap around pattern that would be bold, visible at a distance, and compatible with the lotus.

As you can see, the leaf pattern under the lotus was expanded and wrapped around to "vine" onto the belly. Hopefully I will be able to upload a picture of the finished color sometime soon.

The next posts should be of test results for various henna suppliers who have sent samples to the Studio. I am always looking for great henna powder, and to date.. the best sample tested for easy of use, great texture & good color is the Jamila powder. Test results are on the blog!

Simple henna pattern for the back of the hand.

Here is a quick & easy henna tattoo.
This simple design takes about 5 minutes to apply.

Notice the movement of the pattern from wrist to outer finger. This style flatters the hand and enhances the ring.

Lacy henna tattoo from KooKoo Bean

Here is a photo of an original henna tattoo design. The customer wanted something lacy and flowing, similary to the design she got in India while on vacation.

This design covers the wrist & hand, and is photographed on a beautiful white metal table, just one of the many imported treasures from KooKoo bean.

As it is now the end of henna season here in Jacksonville, I will only be available for henna tattoo for parties and events until next summer! Call the studio at 904-993-7466 for more information.

Wishing you joy,

Ann George

The meaning of henna tattoos

I receive alot of inquiries as to the meaning of henna tattoos. While different cultures, and different tribes within a culture have symbols and patterns that carry a meaning for that community, it is my experience that most clients here in Florida choose symbols that have a meaning particular to them.

This photo is a perfect example! A couple, who were soon to be married, choose to have the kanji for eternity done on their ring fingers as a symbol of their commitement to each other. While the kanji has its own meaning, the choice of this design, and the location was especially important to the couple.
